Finally you can brew perfect Trung Nguyen coffee in your Keurig! This is a trial run, so quantities are limited. If it's successful, we will work on getting more Creative Coffees in Fresh-Cups.
The Trung Nguyen Creative 4 (Premium Culi) is a masterful blend of 4 different bean types - 3 species (Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa) and an Arabica subvariety called Catimor. It is our most commonly purchased coffee for coffee shops serving Cafe Sua Da, and has one of the highest overall satisfaction ratings of any of our coffees. Flavor notes include chocolate, butter, vanilla. Very smooth with good back-palate persistence. Comparatively higher in caffeine than an average coffee.
Box of 10 Fresh-Cups, standard 42mm size. 100% recyclable. See below for more details about Fresh-Cups. Limit 2 boxes per order, sorry, this is a Beta test and we have limited quantity!
We developed our Fresh-Cups for our own fresh roast coffees, but then we got to wondering: would this new style of cup also work on Trung Nguyen coffees? Could it be possible to get an authentic-tasting cup of Vietnamese coffee out of a Keurig? Delightfully, the answer is yes!
Trung Nguyen sends us the same whole bean coffee they send to their own cafes, which is meant to be ground and served on-site. We grind the beans fresh each week, to the exact fineness necessary for a perfect Keurig brew (it's a little different for every coffee), just like the Vietnamese cafes do. Then we seal them immediately into our specially designed Fresh-Cups.
Fresh-Cups consist of a plastic outer cup with a foil lid and a unique paper filter inside, which ensures the water flows through at the optimal speed for maximum flavor extraction. All components are recyclable. These are produced right here at Heirloom Coffee headquarters.
Note that Fresh-Cups are perishable, like other fresh produce. That amazing fresh-ground taste begins to fade in time. We recommend using them within three or four weeks of the shipping date to get the best flavor. They are not meant to sit on shelves.
About Trung Nguyen Creative Four
Trung Nguyen is the best-selling brand of coffee in Vietnam, with 800 coffeeshops throughout Southeast Asia. Travellers returning from Vietnam often remember their Trung Nguyen cafe experience and long to recreate it. Their coffees are carefully blended and roasted in authentic Vietnamese deep butter-roast.
Many people are familiar with Major Dickason's Blend from Peet's coffee, but they don't realize the story behind it. It is essentially a Vietnamese-style blend developed at the request of a patron of Peet's who had been to Vietnam and loved the coffee, and missed its complexities and rich flavor when he came back to the States, so he badgered Peet into creating that bled. It turned out to be Peet's most popular blend, so Peet named it after the his customer, who was in fact NOT a Major, but it sounded good... We find that people who like Major Dickason's Blend go wild when they try this quintessential coffee that inspired it.

K-cups - okay
I love Creative 4, and the k-cups are good, just a bit pricey.

A welcome addition
Not usually a fan of Keurig type coffee pods but this had almost all the virtues of my favorite Trung Nguyen #4. If only the price was a bit lower.
